Planet Source Code file may be a free Source Code file
database and sharing website. As a part of the Exhedra Solutions group, like
RentACoder.com, it had been founded by Ian Ippolito. As of 11/18/2008, it
contained over 13 million lines of public Source Code file in 10 different
programming languages.
A monthly contest is held in each programming language
category for the "best code." this is often supported a rating and
comment system, by which individuals are expected to go away constructive
messages and ratings whenever possible. The authors of the three or four
selected "Code of the Month" items receive their choice of prize from
a variety of books and software.
Members can upload and download unlimited amounts of code,
and everyone uploads are automatically entered into the coding contest for the
month. Members can upload the content within the sort of plaintext code, zip files
containing full projects, tutorials, or reviews of third party products. the
location displays prompt to check-in after five code views.
Code is often used from any submissions, but credit must
tend to the author if requested.
Recently there has been a touch of confusion within the
Visual Basic section. With the new addition of Visual Basic .NET from
Microsoft, viewers who looked for new code unsuccessfully tried to run the submitted
VB .NET code on their VB 6.0 compilers. (Visual Basic .NET is incompatible with
Visual Basic 6.0)
